If you are really into Disney the Disney All-Star Movies resort is good, and not expensive at all, The walt Disney World Dolphin resort is good but more expensive

You can find which place has the best rates on the dates you are going, some places could have sopecial deals, it depends on the dates you stay

Grand Floridian is the nicest of all, but sooo expensive! Try the Contemperary Resort or the Polynesian Resort. And All Start Movies, All Star Music, and All Star Sports are nice and cheap.

Check-in Jan 3 and Check-out Jan 10 so, 7 nights

The GRAND FLORIDIAN is the most expensive resort at Disney World. It is on the monorail loop which makes for easy access to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot (though that will require a monorail transfer).
7 nights = $3,142

The ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE is another very unique hotel. Some of the rooms overlook an open area with animals wandering freely. There is a restaurant there that sells African meals.
$1,890

You are picking a very hard time to go since you do not already have reservations. I also tried to price the Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, All-Stars, and Pop Century. None of those resorts have any rooms available at that time. I suggest your dad call today for a resrevation if he is really considering taking the family.

And keep in mind those prices DO NOT include meals or admission tickets. I would add on at least $250 per person to those prices for a rough estimate as to how much this vacation will cost.
